Juan Pedro Martinez began his oboe studies in his hometown, Campo de Criptana (Spain) with Manuel Angulo. He graduated at Conservatory of Basque Country in San Sebastián with prestigious professors such as Juan Manuel González Lumbreras, Alexei Ogrintchouk and Christian Wetzel and he completed his Master degree at Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag with Lucas Macías and Karel Schoofs.

 He was member of Youth Orchestra of the European Union (EUYO), Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra and Youth National Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) and he got important scholarships from AIE, Jonde-BBVA and Jorcam-Ibercaja.

  As a soloist he performed the B. Martinu Oboe Concerto in 2012 with Youth Orchestra of Madrid and the W. A. Mozart Oboe Concerto with Chamber Orchestra of Belgium in 2015. Furthermore he was invited to coach and give masterclasses to the Youth National Orchestras of Costa Rica and El Salvador. Since 2021 Juan Pedro has been one of the teachers and organizers of a Double Reed Festival in his hometown Campo de Criptana.

  He was althoboïst in Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria between 2015 - 2016 and as of 2019 Juan Pedro is alto oboist of The Ballet Orchestra based in Amsterdam (Nationale Opera&Ballet/Het Muziektheater). He is regularly first oboe and althobo remplaçant with orchestras such as the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Residentie Orkest, Philharmonie Zuidnederland, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Orquestra del Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia de la Comunitat Valenciana, Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla León, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid and Orquesta de Cámara de Cadaqués.
