Annemiek de Bruin

Annemiek de Bruin (1993) received clarinet lessons from Herman Braune and Harmen de Boer, among others. In 2016 she received her bachelor's degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with Ralph Manno and in 2018 she studied with the predicate 'excellent' graduated for her master's degree with Arno Piters in Amsterdam.
She took master classes with Martin Fröst, Jörg Widmann, Walter Boeykens and Charles Neidich, among others. Chamber music lessons she received from Janine Jansen, David Kuijken, Håcould Austbø and Arnau Tomas (Casals Quartet). Annemiek won prizes at the Prinses Christina Concours and in 2013 was chosen as "Classic Young Master" by the Foundation of the same name. In March 2015, she was selected to represent the Netherlands at the Euroconcours Clarinet.
She has soloed with the Brabants Orkest (2011), the Zeeuws Orkest (2012) and TY Kamerorkest (2014) and toured the US and Canada (2012) at the invitation of the Dutch consulates in San Francisco, Calgary and Vancouver and the Netherlands-America Foundation. In 2019 she performed Weber's Clarinet Quintet with Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
From 2014-2016 she played in the young Netherlands Wind Ensemble. During the 2018-2019 season, Annemiek was part of the Academy of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. In the summer of 2019 she participated in the Mahler Academy in Bolzano.
Annemiek regularly substitutes, including with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orkest, Philharmonie Zuidnederland and the Netherlands Wind Ensemble. She has worked with conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt, John Eliot Gardiner, Valery Gergiev, Bernard Haitink, Daniel Harding and others.

In 2012 she founded the Chimaera Trio. The ensemble performed during the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht and the Grachtenfestival and won prizes at the Storioni Chamber Music Festival Competition and the Tristan Keuris Chamber Music Competition.

In 2019 the trio was part of “AVROTROS Klassiek presenteert!”
