Anneleen Schuitemaker

Anneleen Schuitemaker grew up in Katwijk aan Zee, where she began harp lessons at the age of ten with Anke Bottema at the music school. At the Conservatory of Amsterdam, she received her bachelor's degree in 2014 and her master's degree in June 2018 with a 9.5.

Among other awards, Anneleen won first prize and audience award at the Rosa Spier Harp Competition (2011) and first prize at the International Harp Competition in Sandstedt, Germany (2014).

A regular harpist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra since August 2020, Anneleen Schuitemaker has had the opportunity to perform in many European Union member states and beyond, including Iceland, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.

She has always had a passion for orchestral playing. As an academician with the Staatskapelle Berlin from 2015 to 2017 and with the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln from 2017 to 2019. She also regularly remplaces with various orchestras at home and abroad, including the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Rundfunk-Sinfonie Orchester Berlin and WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln.

With various orchestras she has soloed in works by Boïeldieu, Debussy, Dittersdorf, Handel, Mozart, Reinecke and Rodrigo, for example. She recently performed Debussy's Danse Profane three times with the Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Iván Fischer in the main hall of the Concertgebouw.
